Be Alert: Suspicious Man in Red Ford Ranger Drawing Concerns

Fifteen and 19-year-old sisters were walking their dog along Richmar Drive at 2:20 p.m.  on June 18 when a passing male motorist made them uncomfortable by staring at them.

His description and vehicle were similar to those in a May 28 incident where a driver tried to get a teenage girl’s name and phone number while she walked in the same neighborhood. That man told the girl his name was "Ed."

A 52-year-old Cleveland man driving a red Ford ranger pickup was stopped by a Westlake Police Department  officer on Hilliard Boulevard in Rocky River and admitted being in the area “trash-picking,” although no trash had been set out. Westlake Police are continuing an investigation.

Lost bees, Have You Seen Them?

Here’s a blotter item you don’t see every day: lost bees. A North Ridgeville apiarist reported that her swarm of honey bees flew the coop, umm, hive and headed eastbound toward Avon on the afternoon of June 17. She requested that she be contacted if anyone reports a new colony establishing itself.

Not being neighborly

A Westwood Road man found his phone lines cut on June 21 at 2:12PM. He suspects a female neighbor who was seen leaving the victim’s garage the previous evening. There is a history of trouble between the two households. The Westlake City Prosecutor will review the report for possible charges.
