ReplyWhen the doors or Bellfaire closes,there will be many doors closing to our special need children. There will be a lot of programs and opportunities closed as well. As far as the locked cottages we prefered to use the term the closed cottage .Unfortuately some of the children needed to be in an environment that was monitored to keep themselves safe as well as their peers.Bellfaire offered excellent services for my family.The closing of Bellaire will also affect three teachers,one conselor and a security guard ,leaving them unemployed,they are all Parents of some of my GodChildren .What is the alternative ?,

ReplyI was there.I posted about this story.I did see people running,I did hear a young man talk about a weapon.I did see a young man punched a young female .I did see multiple Police enforcement ,I did see the Beachwood Police department Swat vehicle,my post was not a rumor,I'm not Anonynomous.I'm a blogger for Patch.My post was not mistaken.This behavior need to be addressed and it is unacceptable in everyone's neighborhood .My prayers go out to the families of Shaker Heights .

Unfortuately my husband and myself was stuck in the middle of traffic during this Fireworks display it was a horrible experience and a very lenghty one as well.The behavior of some of the youth and adults was totally rude,the music,the language exchanges and even sitting in stall traffic hearing someone talking about a weapon and later observing a young man punching a girl .We were patient and scared ,it was so sad to see families sitting along the sidewalks trying to have a wonderful and traditional outing for most of us to be placed in the middle of madness that's what it felt like for me .Yes we observed the presence of neighboring Police even knowing they were there ,someone chosed to misbehave lastnight and that's what they did.I sincerely hope whatever happened is verified and clarified .Clearly something went wrong lastnight ,at one point the police stopped all traffic .

ReplyMrs.Davis,I wish Bellefaire was'nt closing too,I took advantage of many programs for my kids with disabilities none of them compared to the level of concern and involvement for my child to succeed in society,there are no locked cottages ,however that are classrooms for the kids that require more intense care,you would have to be in the shoes of a parent who is experiencing this on going fight for our kids to get an education without the stigma and lack of knowledge from society .What is the alternative for the kids that need this level of care while achieving the ability and capability of getting an education despite their diagnois .Have a great day !

ReplyI would like to see something that is family friendly for the children to grandma and grandpa when the bookstore was there it was a great place to share stories and an opportunity to enlighten our loveones the importance of reading and that obtaining knowledge was fun and neccessary.Have a great day !

ReplyRichard,I certainly see the importance of you comment. I'm glad you brought up the issue about spelling errors,I do this a lot because of a Stroke,Myasthenia Gravis both which causes me have double vision.I was called out myself for a spelling error,for a moment I had considered not posting.However I ask the reader to look beyond the misspelled word and embrace the message and my input as a blogger.This is challenging for me ,but I WILLand I CAN post and ignore any negative comments about my spelling errors .I know I'm not perfect andI know the reader is not perfect either..Let us all have a great day!

ReplyI personally celebrate Bellefaire School .if it had not been an alternative for my children with Bipolar,Autism,and ADHD and being under the IEP especially designed for the capability and the reality of their limitations ,but most of all making it possible and important to have an Education.Thank you Bellefaire for all you've done to ensure my child to get a Diploma and go even further in life.I celebrate Bellefaire,Teachers,Counselors and the Principals .Because of your programs and input I have two Graduates despite their diagnois ,you were equipped to handle every situation or intervention.Thank you Bellefaire .Have a great day!
