Lila Mills is a native of Northeast Ohio, raised in Cleveland's Slavic Village. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Columbia University in New York City, and worked in film production before becoming a journalist.

She loves hearing people's stories and following leads, but mostly she enjoys spending time with her husband and six-year-old daughter.
