This week has lots of fun events going on!

Summer’s not quite over yet but the kids are back in school and suddenly the days are going a lot slower (for the kids too). No fear, we still have a list of things to get you outdoors and enjoying the last couple weeks of warm weather! You’re still in that going-out mode and we know it! So read on to learn about some events that will combat the end of summer slump. Here are five things you should know today.

1) Crocker Park's Movies in the Park series wraps up with a showing of Breakfast at Tiffany's at 9 p.m. Bring a blanket or a chair to enjoy some free entertainment! 2) The community service center is hosting a free blood pressure screening from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. For more information, call 440-899-3544 for information. 3) It's back to school time and Westlake Porter Public Library is accepting volunteer applications for the Homework Help Center. 1) The Westlake Early Childhood PTA is hosting their annual Membership Drive tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Clague Cabin. The evening membership drive will lots of activities for kids like Balloon Bender Dave, limbo contests, relay races and inflatable fun as well as information on the group. 2) Crocker Park's Movies in the Park series continues tonight at 9 p.m. with a showing of Aladdin. Outdoor Movie, a Carnival and More!

Here are five things you should know today.

1) Crocker Park's Movies in the Park series continues tonight with a free showing of Disney Nature: Oceans. The show starts at 9 p.m. in the West Park. Be sure to bring something to sit on! 2) Westlake's Margot Shumway competed in the 2011 Senior World Championship Trials in New Jersey and is in contention to represent the United States at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Slovenia. Row2K News reports that Shumway is in the finals. 3) The Holy Trinity Carnival starts runs from 6-9 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Church in Avon tonight. This week's events include an outdoor movie at Crocker Park, a jazz concert at BayArts, an a capella concert at Westlake Recreation Center, Jersey Boys at Cleveland Playhouse, and writers' workshops at Westlake Porter Public Library.

Get Out: Outdoor Concerts, NASA Wind Tunnel, Free Movie and More

This week's events include an outdoor movie at Crocker Park, an outdoor Americana concert at Bay Arts, a tour of NASA's wind tunnel, an outdoor 60s tribute concert at the Westlake Recreation Center and basic computer classes at Porter Public Library.
