Lake Effect Snow Watch Issued For Region

The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow watch for the region, warning that the eastern suburbs of Cleveland could receive as much as two feet of snow between Sunday evening and Wednesday morning. White Christmas for Westlake? Maybe

A winter storm is coming later this week.

If you're dreaming of a white Christmas, you may get your wish. It looks like a winter storm will arrive starting Thursday, although WEWS Channel 5 reports it will begin as rain with gusty winds before changing over to snow Thursday night into Friday morning. We could have one to three inches of snow by noon Friday, followed by strong winds setting up lake effect snow. By the time the storm is done Saturday, we could have four to six inches of snow, according to the early forecast. Will the snow stick around for Christmas? The forecast calls for temperatures to stay in the low 30s Sunday and Monday. But a chance of a rain/snow mix for Christmas Day could melt the snow. Snow could affect your holiday travel plans.
