Donate, set aside or help another school with the $4,000? Take our poll and tell us what you think!
Westlake High School's football program is soon to have a little extra cash in its pocket. The Demons won $4,000 by beating Bay last Friday in the Cleveland Browns Game of the Week. Athletic director Tony Cipollone said that the program should have the money within the week. No decision had been made as to how the money will be spent. Cipollone said one possibility is donating the prize money to the Westlake Athletic Development Foundation towards adding artificial turf to the school stadium and other improvements, such as upgrades to the press box and entries. One reader commented on Wednesday's story, "Rather than going the typical Westlake route of building something that's way over the top, I'd rather see it donated to a football …

Program has some money to spend after beating Bay last week
Lots of schools would love to have Tony Cipollone's dilemma right now. The Westlake High School athletic director gets to help decide how to spend a $4,000 windfall. The football program won $4,000 Friday after the Demons beat Bay in the Cleveland Browns Game of the Week, selected by online voters. Westlake High has not received the check, but Cipollone said that it should probably be in hand within a week. "We're still talking about (how we're going to spend the money)," Cipollone said. Nothing has been decided yet, but the strongest possibility right now is giving the money to the Westlake Athletic Development Foundation towards its goal of installing an artificial turf field at the high school's stadium and other improvements such as …

The $4,000 that comes with winning the Cleveland Browns Game of the Week. The game won a fan vote to be the Browns Game of the Week, which meant the winner of the game would receive $4,000 for its football program. Demons coach Mark Campo and the game's MVP will be honored at a Browns home game this season. The Little Brown Jug is a rivalry that dates back to somewhere in the mid- to late 1950s. The earliest history Westlake athletic director Tony Cipollone could find of it was 1958. Westlake improves to 2-0 with the win. The Demons next play at Rocky River at 7 p.m. Sept. 7. Were you there? …

If Demons win, football program gets $4,000

Thanks to fans of both schools voting, Friday's game will be the Cleveland Browns Game of the Week. Westlake vs. Bay beat out Walsh Jesuit vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary, Austintown-Fitch vs. Archbishop Hoban, and Firestone vs. Copley in the voting. The winner of the game will get $4,000 for its football program. The winning coach and the game's most valuable player will be honored at a Browns home game this season. The game will also get a written and video recap on the Browns' website, ClevelandBrowns.com, and will be mentioned on Cleveland Browns High …
