A sad, but funny situation of a drunk woman in want of attention who called 9-1-1.
Most people who call the police want to report someone else’s misbehavior. Not so on Feb. 7 at 2:15 p.m. when a 41-year-old Rocky River woman called 9-1-1 from a Clague Road home. She wanted to report that she was drunk and had an active warrant from the Rocky River Police Department. She was arrested by Westlake Police for Disorderly Conduct - Intoxication. The woman talked to a 9-1-1 operator for more than 7 minutes. She told the operator she was an alcoholic, a bad person and didn’t want help. “You people don’t need to help people like me,” the woman said. When asked if she was still drinking, she replied “absolutely” and that she had “a lot” of beer left. She also said she just wanted someone to pay attention to her.

The following arrest information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A Maple Heights woman did the right thing when she wouldn't let her intoxicated husband drive. Unfortunately, he did not see that. The man fought with his wife while they were driving on Detroit Road around 7:08 p.m. on July 22. He got out of the car near Crocker Road, and started asking other drivers for a ride. When one woman refused, he threatened to kill her and she called 911. When Westlake police arrived, the man chest-bumped one officer and wouldn't submit to arrest. That's when he got tasered. He was taken to St. John Medical Center to have the taser barbs removed, and he repeatedly threatened to kill the medical staff there. The man is being charged with domestic violence, two counts of aggravated menacing, misdemeanor assault, …
