Girls' Soccer Team Honored for Academic Success
Westlake High School Demons have second-highest GPA in Ohio
Westlake High School's girls' soccer team is smart as well as good. The Demons were named a first team Scholastic All-America Team by Adidas National Soccer Coaches Association. The award is given on the basis of academic achievement as well as on-field accomplishments. They are also ranked second in Ohio with a 4.07 grade-point average. Westlake was the Southwestern Conference champion this year. The Demons advanced to the regional semifinal, where they lost to Medina, 1-0, in overtime. They finished with an 11-7-1 record. Coach Scott Jones was named the SWC Coach of the Year.
