Hot Mama! Boutique for Moms Coming to Westlake

Store focused on trendy maternity clothes is set to open at Crocker Park in in March.

Crocker Park is getting greater Cleveland's first Hot Mama boutique. The Edina, Minn.-based company signed a lease for a store here, with a March 2013 opening planned. "We go where the moms are," said Hot Mama founder Megan Tamte. "We want to be in the neighborhoods where moms hang out. That's why we going to be at Crocker Park." While Hot Mama caters to moms, don't expect to find Mom Jeans. Hot Mama is about on-trend clothes and accessories for moms who want to look in style, but don't want to look like a teenager. The Hot Mama look includes everything from leopard-print leggings to a slinky red dress to a cute jacket. "We're about helping moms take some time for themselves," Tamte said. "Moms are important. Crocker Park Kicks Off Holiday Season With Tree-Lighting

Event features Santa, fireworks and a boy's wish being granted

The holiday spirit came to Crocker Park Saturday night as the ninth annual Holiday Tree Lghting Extravaganza was held. Were you there? Share your photos here! Hosts from the local Radio Disney station led families in fun contests and games. One contest, air guitar, brought dads onto the stage to strut their stuff. Mike Mencke of Cleveland won, and got a gift card for NJ Thomas Fine Jewelry. "I'll be using that for my wife (Margaret)," he said. Gabe Cipriani of Mayfield had a good night. After Stormy Opening Day, D'Italia Has Smooth Sailing

New Italian eatery is in old A&J's spot

A superstorm hitting town the same day you launch your new business may be unsettling for some. But for siblings Lisa Andrews and Rich Dow, it was just fine. The two opened their Italian eatery, D'Italia, on Oct. 28, the day SuperStorm Sandy hit town. It was designed to be a soft opening, Dow said, so they could get settled in easier. "Turned out we didn't have to worry about being swamped with huge crowds with that weather," Andrews said.  But since then, she said, business has been building up as word of mouth has spread that they're open. Dow and Andrews had been working on renovating the former A&J's site since May.
