POLL: Who Should Pay Woman Stuck With Neighbor's Electric Bill?

Wiring mix-up led to Westlake's Maria Latona paying too much for 12 years.

Westlake resident Maria Latona was shocked (pardon the pun) to find out she'd been paying for her neighbor's electricity instead of her own the last 12 years. After the discovery was made, she turned to WEWS and their consumer affairs reporter Joe Pagonakis when she could not get anywhere with FirstEnergy. It turned out that, when Latona's condo was built, the wiring to the meters for her and her neighbor were switched. Latona told WEWS she was paying $100 a month more than what she should have been paying. After the TV station got involved, FirstEnergy gave Latona a check for $3,400. That would cover six of the 12 years of being overcharged, and Latona's not satisfied with that. She wants to be reimbursed in full. What do you think? …
