UPDATE: Hearing Today for Student in Kent State Twitter Threat Case

Kent State University police this morning released the booking photo of the 19-year-old sophomore charged with threatening to open fire on campus. William Koberna, of Brunswick, will be arraigned this afternoon by Portage County Municipal Court Judge Barb Oswick on charges of inducing panic, a fifth-degree felony, and aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor. Koberna is being held in the Portage County jail until his arraignment. He was arrested Sunday at his home in Brunswick after posting a tweet on his Twitter account in which he threatened to use a fire arm on campus. Cheer on Hometown Athletes in the College World Series

Kent State and its roster of local players competes against South Carolina at 8 p.m. on ESPN

UPDATED 6/21: Kent State Falls to South Carolina, Ending College World Series Run. The Kent State University baseball team won its first game in the College World Series against Florida, the nation's top ranked team in the tournament. The 5-4 win Monday night kept the Golden Flashes in Omaha, NE, where they will play two-time defending national champion South Carolina.  But the cinderella story of a Mid-American Conference school isn't the only reason to watch the Golden Flashes tonight. Several of the players are from or near northeast Ohio Patch towns: Wednesday night's game should air on ESPN, but there was a weather delay. If the Flashes win, they will play Thursday. If the Flashes lose, they will be eliminated.

VIDEO: Crankshaft, Funky Winkerbean Artist Talks about New Mural at Kent State

Chuck Ayers and Tom Batiuk partnered to tell the story of college life at their alma mater

Crankshaft cartoonist Chuck Ayers got a once in-a-lifetime treat Wednesday. Ayers watched as his newspaper comic strip was transformed into a massive mural lining the walls of a new student lounge at his alma mater: Kent State University. Ayers, class of 1971, partnered with friend and colleage Tom Batiuk, author of the comic strip Funky Winkerbean and fellow Kent State alumnus, to create a mural depicting the college student experience from acceptance to graduation. The mural lines the walls of a new student lounge, called "The Nest," that will debut to students on Monday. Timeka Rashid, director of the Center for Student Involvement at Kent State, approached Batiuk and Ayers with the idea of putting their characters in a mural to give …
