Westlake's Stuckart Misses Out On State Crown
Senior wrestler fades in consolations, ending a memorable high school career.
The Westlake Demons fielded one wrestler at this past weekend’s OHSAA Division I State Wrestling Championships and came away without earning a top-eight placing. Senior Sheldon Stuckart (40-4 record entering state) was a strong contender to win the 152-pound crown and started off strong with a opening round, 15-7 major decision win over Hudson senior Tyler Peacock. In his second championship round match, Stuckart lost to sophomore Nick Corba of Beavercreek via decision, 7-4, to send the Demon grappler to the consolation bracket. In the consolations, Wooster senior Anthony Catanzarite ended Stuckart’s day with a 15-1 major decision victory.
