Jennifer Kearney of Westlake was sentenced to three years in prison for hitting and killing a motorcyclist while driving drunk, and driving the wrong way, on Interstate 90 in Cleveland. Kearney, 29, was also fined $1,000, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. Kearney pleaded guilty Oct. 17 to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influnce in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.  Motorcyclist Kenneth Stith, 54, of Akron was struck by Kearney around 1:30 a.m. on July 1, 2011. Stith, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Westlake resident Jennifer Kearney, 27, is pleading not guilty to charges for hitting and killing a motorcyclist on Interstate 90 in Cleveland. Kearney is accused of driving the wrong way down Interstate 90 early on July 1, resulting in a fatal crash with 45-year-old Kenneth Stith of Akron. Stith was not wearing a helmet and EMS crews pronounced him dead on the scene. According to Cleveland police public information officer Sammy Morris, responding officers believed Kearney was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but she refused to be tested for either. Kearney was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Friday morning. She was out on a $50,000 bond, which will continue…

Westlake Woman Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal I-90 Crash

Jennifer Kearney is out on bond after being accused of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Jennifer Kearney, 27, of Westlake, is out on bond after pleading not guilty to a vehicular homicide charge for driving the wrong way down Interstate 90 July 1, resulting in a fatal crash with a motorcyclist at about 1:15 a.m. According to Cleveland police public information officer Sammy Morris, Kearney was driving a Subaru Outback west on Interstate 90 when the vehicle hit a motorcyclist just east of the West 98th Street exit. The motorcyclist, Kenneth Stith, 54, of Akron, was thrown from his bike. EMS crews pronounced him dead on the scene. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
