Accused Burglar, Heroin Addict Still in Jail

Stephen Zywotek of Avon Lake also faces drug trafficking charges in Lorain County

One of the four people arrested for the break-in and burglary of a Glenbrook Court home earlier this month remains in jail. Stephen Zywotek, 25, of Avon Lake, is in the Cuyahoga County jail as of Tuesday evening on $20,000 bond. He is also currently under indictment in Lorain County Court of Common Pleas on a charge of drug trafficking, and there are charges against him in Avon Lake Municipal Court for possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing drug abuse instruments and speeding. Chelsea Alurovic, also 25 and from Avon Lake, spent three days in jail before her $20,000 bond was posted on Nov. 19.  Zywotek and Alurovic, both described by Westlake Police as heroin addicts, were arrested after an investigation of the Nov. 12 break-in. Here's the top news in Westlake this past week

Two Avon Lake residents, reportedly heroin addicts, and their accomplices are under arrest after a home on Glenbrook Court was broken into. Jewelry and prescription drugs were stolen. Chelsea Alurovic and Stephen Zywotek, both 25 and from Avon Lake, also confessed to other home burglaries around Westlake. Westlake resident Jennifer Kearney, 29, was sentenced to three years in prison for killing motorcyclist Kenneth Stith in a drunk-driving crash in 2011 where she was driving the wrong way on I-90 in Cleveland. Crocker Park is getting a unique new resident. Fox 8 is going to be setting up a studio in the Westlake shopping/dining/entertainment center to cover west side news. UPDATE: Heroin Addicts Charged in Home Burglaries

The following information was provided by the Westlake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Updated 9:11 a.m. Two Avon Lake residents and two accomplices were charged after a home break-in on Glenbrook Court. Chelsea Alurovic and Stephen Zywotek, both 25 and from Avon Lake, are facing drug and burglary charges in connection with the Nov. 12 incident. They are in the Cuyahoga County jail along with Matthew Graff, 24, of Cleveland, who is being charged with complicity to burglary charges. Another accomplice, Doran Sutphin, 33, of Cleveland, was arrested Monday afternoon. He is being charged with burglary and is also at the Cuyahoga County jail. The home was broken into through the side door in the garage. The resident discovered that jewelry and prescription drugs had been taken. Westlake Police found out that an unfamiliar red …
