Monday's Board of Education meeting, 'Pirates of the Caribbean' premiere, more rainy weather, boys lacrosse kicks off postseason, the Cleveland Indians and 'Pint Night' at Champps.

1) To prepare for bargaining sessions with the WTA and OAPSE, the Westlake Board of Education convened for an executive session at the Westlake City Schools administrative building yesterday. During the board’s May 9 work session, Superintendent Dr. Dan Keenan and treasurer Mark Pepera proposed to cut operating expenses by $950,000 and Personnel by $1.12 million to counter the $2.1 million in proposed state funding losses that could hit the district during the 2011-12 school year. More will become known on the local level at next Monday’s regular meeting at the high school cafeteria where hundreds are expected to attend.  2) ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ will open this Friday May 20 at Regal Cinemas in Crocker Park.
