Cargill Issues Ground Turkey Recall
Customers can return products to stores for refunds
Cargill Value Added Meats Retail has issued a voluntary recall on about 185,000 pounds of ground turkey products. According to a press release from the Cargill company, the recall affects 85 percent lean ground turkey produced at the Springdale, Ark. facility on Aug. 23, 24, 30 and 31. The facility is the same one that was involved in a recall in early August. According to the release, the U.S. Department of Agriculture found the same strain of Salmonella Heidelberg that was present in the previous recall during a review of the facility. There was one test sample that was positive for the bacteria.
