Chisholm passed away suddenly on May 6.
Margaret Ann Chisholm (nee Stuart), 66 of Westlake for the last 30 years and formerly of Rocky River, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 6, 2013 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1946 in Cleveland. Margaret graduated from Magnificat High School in 1964 and furthered her education at Ohio University where she received a Bachelor's Degree. After graduation Margaret worked as a substitute teacher, a lab technician, worked for Mitchels Tavern, a catering business, worked for M Ingles, and traveled with Aeronauts International. Margaret loved children and was known as the fun aunt. Her interests included cooking, boating, and golfing. Carroll was married and a father of three.
Timothy J. "Tim" Carroll, 70, of Westlake, died Dec. 8. He was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Cleveland to Richard and Kathleen Carroll. He graduated from Cathedral Latin High School and is a 1965 graduate of the University of Dayton. Carroll was the owner of C&K Manufacturing in Westlake for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Cleveland Yachting Club and St. Christopher Church, and was a volunteer for Catholic Charities. He enjoyed boating, golf and time with his family. Gertrude M. "Dal" (Dolinar) Frick, 96, of Westlake, died Nov. 15. She is survived by daughters Larraine Stehlik (Gary) and Marsha Prock (Gary). grandchildren Scott, Shannon, Nathan, Greg, Sarah, Brian and Curt; and great-grandchildren Kamryn, Sydney, Olivia, Molly and Benjamin. Frick was preceded in death by husband Elroy M.; children Dennis and Donald Frick and Beverly Flading; and siblings Lud, Tony, Anne and Lee. Zbin was a high school teacher in Murray Hill
Margaret I (Takacs) Zbin, 94, of Westlake, died Nov. 5. She was born Dec. 3, 1917, in Cleveland to the late Zoltan and Margit Takacs. She graduated from West Tech High School and what is now Case Western Reserve University. Zbin taught home economics and typing at Murray Hill High School. After she married Theodore Zbin, the couple lived briefly in Washington, D.C. She and her late husband were avid international travelers. Zbin is survived by children Catherine A. Sautter (Robert), Ilona M. Owens (Thomas), and Susan M. Paroda (Donald); grandchildren Heidi Randazzo (Donald), Jennifer Murchie (John), Patrick Owens and Michelle Robinson; and great-grandchildren James, Katharine and John Randazzo. Spent eight months in prison camp after participating in Warsaw Uprising
Andrew Zajdler, 88, of Westlake, died Nov. 3. He was born July 16, 1924 in Poland. Zajdler was active in the Polish Resistance during World War II and served in the Home Army. After participating in the Warsaw Uprising in August of 1944, Zajdler spent eight months in a prisoner of war camp. After the war, Zajdler married Halina Rutkowski in Germany in 1946. He finished college in London then moved to the United States with Halina in 1952. Zajdler held many engineering jobs over his career. He was active with the Cleveland Chapter of his Home Army and its Veterans. He also enjoyed nature, camping and fishing. Devis also worked for Beachwood City Schools
Mary Elizabeth Devis, 94, of Westlake, died Oct. 10. She was born July 21, 1918, to the late Harvey and Elva Skelley of Canton. Devis was an adminisrative assistant for Beachwood City Schools and served as vice-president of the Beachwood School Employees Credit Union. After retiring she volunteered at Fairview Hospital and at the Rocky River and Westlake senior centers. She was also a member of the Rocky River Welcome Wagon and was a dear friend, mentor and companion to others with visual impairments. Dorothy J. (Deemer) Bartko, 90, of Westlake, died Sept. 17 at St. John Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Cleveland to the late Charles F. and Irene J. (Riley) Deemer. Following her graduation from West Tech High School in Cleveland, she worked as a secretary at White Motors and Bettcher Industries. After raising her family, she worked for several local attorneys and later for real estate appraiser John Costello. Bartko baked weekly for the nuns while her children attended St. Charles Borromeo School and was active in community service, being named Woman of the Year by the Parma YMCA. Jensen worked for Sheffield/Sheffield Lake School District
Carl E. Jensen, 91, of Westlake died August 5. He was born Lakewood on May 20, 1921, to the late Charles and Kersten (Krogh) Jensen and grew up in Avon. After graduating from Avon High School in 1939, he served during World War II in the Army Corps of Engineers. Jensen retired in 1984 from the Sheffield/Sheffield Lake School District, where he had been custodian at Knollwood Elementary School.
