Crash in Bradley Woods Reservation Kills 22-Year-Old Man

Five taken to the hospital following Saturday afternoon crash.

A late afternoon crash in the Bradley Woods Reservation took the life of an Elyria man and critically injured two others March 23. William Fekete, 22, of Elyria, died at St. John Medical Center, according to Monica Banks Hines, a public information specialist with the Cleveland Metroparks. Hines said two women, whose names have not been released are in critical condition at Fairview Hospital. Five people were in the vehicle when it lost control on a curve on White Oak Lane in the metropark and crashed into a tree. The male driver, whose name has not been released, was injured, but not critically. Hines did not have information on the fifth passenger. Westlake Man Crashes SUV, Hospitalized After Police Chase

38-year-old Westlake man remains hospitalized after SUV goes airborne, crashes.

A 38-year-old Westlake man was hospitalized after fleeing from police just after midnight on March 7. Corey Schoenberger of Westlake was observed driving in and out of parking lots in the Crocker Road area at 12:07 a.m. Thursday morning. After committing a number of moving violations, he was signaled to stop by a Westlake police officer; he instead fled westbound on Clemens Road and then northbound on Bradley Road into Bay Village, becoming airborne when crossing the railroad tracks. At the intersection with Lake Road, he failed to negotiate a left turn and hit a fence and tree. Schoenberger was taken to St. John Medical Center by the Bay Village Fire Department. Fuel Leak on I-90 Causes Back-up

Police suggest Detroit Road as alternate route.

Traffic is still backed up on Interstate 90 East after a dump truck pulling a trailer overturned, spilling fuel onto the roadway. No one was injured in the incident near Canterbury Road. According to Westlake police, the trailer contained a welding machine. When that flipped at 10:15 a.m., fuel spilled out onto the roadway. The Ohio Department of Transportation, Westlake police and fire were on the scene, closing two lanes of traffic. Only one lane of traffic is closed now. "It's been a slow-go but it's better," said Westlake Police Cpt. Guy Turner. Turner is encouraging drivers to get off I-90 at Exit 83, take Detroit Road and get back on the freeway at the Detroit Road entrance. Police could not say when the last lane of traffic would …
