Teen Breaks Into Father’s Home, Drops Beer, Gets Arrested

Also...drunk woman won't leave Detroit Road restaurant.

A Lincoln Road man came home and saw his non-custodial 14-year-old son and two unknown females run from his house on May 15 at 5:31 p.m. They were dropping cans of beer as they fled. The father found an attempted entry through a window and also that the garage pedestrian door had been kicked in. The son was arrested the next day for burglary. He was later released to his custodial grandmother. Also in the blotters A 38-year-old Westlake woman got herself banned from a Detroit Road restaurant for being too drunk May 13. She was told to leave by staff and refused. Westlake police responded and found that she also had an active Westlake Police Department warrant for a probation violation, so she was arrested for that as well as drunk and …

Truck Fire Briefly Closes I-90

A truck fire early this morning caused a brief closing of I-90 in Westlake. Nick Pishnery, Westshore Central Dispatch Supervisor, said 911 received a call from the truck’s driver at 4:45 a.m. on May 22 that his cab was on fire. “He was outside he cab and there were no injuries,” Pishnery said. Pishnery said when fire departments from Westlake and Rocky River responded, the cab was fully engulfed. “We have no idea what the cause is right now,” Pishnery said. Westlake Police Capt. Guy turner said the truck was in the westbound lane near the Clague exit. I-90 westbound was briefly closed while firefighters attended to the vehicle. Authorities Looking for Fugitive Wanted for Murder During Dice Game

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Demetrice Cannon.

Demetrice Cannon, 28, is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Cleveland Police for aggravated murder. It is alleged that Cannon shot and killed a man after an argument during a dice game, according to a press release. The incident took place earlier this month on May 2. Cannon is a black male standing approximately 5’05” and weighing 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Cannon is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in the Cleveland area. He also had a previous address near the 1200 block of E. 80th St. in Cleveland. Drunk Man Tries to Bail out Woman for Drunk Driving, Promptly Arrested

 A 34-year-old North Olmsted man could have used better judgment May 11 when he went to bail out a friend who had been arrested for operating under the influence earlier that morning. The man arrived at the police station just after 4 a.m. Westlake police found him to be under the influence and he was arrested for drunk driving as well. Police subsequently determined that he had been drinking with the woman before her arrest. He had also been using medicine prescribed to him. Both were later released to a sober friend. Also in the blotters: A Pennsylvania man visiting this area had his 1999 Acura Integra stolen from a Westford Circle residence on the night of May 6. UPDATE: Van in ATM Heist Found Burned Out

Four men allegedly stole an ATM machine from a BP station.

UPDATE: The Chevy Astro van in question was recovered burned out on Woodstock Avenue in Cleveland on May 15. It had been stolen in Cleveland in March. The license plate on it was stolen the night before the burglary. ---------- Do you recognize this van? A substantial amount of money—and an ATM were taken from the BP station at the intersection of Columbia and Detroit roads last week. An employee arriving for work at the gas station at 4:53 a.m. on May 7 discovered the break in. A close captioned television showed that at 4:12 a.m. four masked suspects drove a full-size van (tan or cream with red or brown horizontal stripes, older, conversion style with running boards) into the plate glass window and stole a Chase ATM. Drunken Driving Checkpoint Planned This Week

The county where the checkpoint will be set up will not be announced until the day prior to the operation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol sent out a press release Monday morning notifying the public that state troopers will conduct a drunken driving checkpoint sometime this week.  The county where the checkpoint will be set up will be announced the day before and the exact location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint.  "If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don't let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired," the patrol said in a prepared statement.  Additional support for the checkpoint will be provided by local law enforcement agencies. Teenager Runs Home After Being Followed by Man Driving Silver Car

Incident was on May 6 on North Bay Drive.

A 14-year-old Westlake boy had a scare May 6. At approximately 4 p.m. the driver of a smaller, newer silver car (possibly an American make) pulled up and stopped behind the teen as he walked on North Bay Drive. The white male was described as late 50s, heavy-set, 5'10"-6' tall, wearing glasses, moustache and a soul patch (a tuft of hair under lower lip) with medium length white hair combed straight back, wearing a red Cleveland Indians shirt, faded blue jeans and white tennis shoes with black toes. The driver got out of the vehicle, made eye contact and followed the boy on foot. The teen ran to his home through backyards and then saw the suspect drive off onto Center Ridge Road. Armed and Dangerous: Fugitive Wanted for Drug Trafficking

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Dontez White.

Dontez White is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Lakewood Police for drug trafficking and firearms offenses, according to Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. White, 38, has a significant criminal history, officials said, and should be considered armed and dangerous. White is a black male standing approximately 5’06” and weighing 400 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. White is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in the Cleveland area. He also had a previous address near the 600 block of Willow Dr. in Euclid.
