They tested them every month on the first of the month. When you heard it on the first you knew it was only a test. I certainly think that the citizens of Westlake are smart enough to figure this out if we had a similar procedure set up.

Westlake-area historical tornado activity is near Ohio state average. It is 46% greater than the overall U.S. average.
On 4/11/1965, a category F4 (max. wind speeds 207-260 mph) tornado 10.0 miles away from the Westlake city center killed 18 people and injured 200 people and caused between $5,000,000 and $50,000,000 in damages.
On 6/8/1953, a category F4 tornado 11.3 miles away from the city center killed 17 people and injured 379 people.
