I highly recommend this store. Great products and great customer service! The owner is very helpful with installation instructions and tips. My husband and I bought three rain barrels on layaway. We set them up on four leveled gray cinder blocks apiece (with gravel underneath the blocks). We installed two barrels on the house and one on the garage. The water comes out nice and fast from the spigots.
All last summer, despite the mild drought, we did not need to use the hose at all for our trees, flowers, lawn, vegetables and 35-gallon water garden. We used our "hillbilly drip irrigation system," for the plants, filling Smith's gallon-jug milk bottles with four pinholes poked in the bottom of each, which slowly dripped rain barrel water down to the plants' roots and helped our new semi-dwarf trees develop deep roots.
Winterizing the barrels is easy. When empty, they weigh hardly anything. And, with our bog garden and dry riverbed, we should be able to get a credit on the new sewer district rates, due to less runoff.
