Video: Historical Tour of Evergreen Cemetery
Volunteers played the parts of Westlake's founders and dedicated the new cemetery gate on Saturday.
On Saturday afternoon, history came to life at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Volunteers in full period costume gathered at Evergreen Cemetery to dedicate the new fence and give a tour of the graves of the founders of Westlake. Many dressed as the founders themselves like Walter Clague, Jebediah Crocker and Celia Clemans.
"It's important to have a history of any place," said Zac Springer portraying Leverett Johnson. "It connects the people who are here now with what had been. With people moving and living everywhere it's hard to keep a history of a place."

Ward 6 Councilman Mark Getsay said he noticed how many families were connected to each other, even back when the city was Dover Township.
It was kind of interesting to see how close of a community it was even back in the 1800s and it still remains that way today," he said.
