Take in Some Irish Culture, Celebrate Oktoberfest and More This Weekend

From Irish dancing and art to Oktoberfest to a big kids' resale event, there's plenty of fun this weekend!

Where/When: / Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Have some fun and help out some pets in need on Saturday while the Cleveland Animal Protective League hosts an adoption event. Q104's Allan Fee and his Street Team will be on site with the prize wheel, and Alyssa's Cupcake Confections will be offering treats from noon to 3 p.m. There will also be a cornstalk maze, straw fort, games for the kids and spooky Halloween displays.

Why Go: The Leneghan Academy of Irish Dance is holding its 11th annual Irish Dance showcase  as a benefit for the dancers who qualify for the regional Irish dance competition, Oireachtas, in Chicago.  Doors open at 6 p.m. for raffles, bakery and more. The performance starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and children over 12 at the door and $10 in advance. Children 12 and under pay $6 at the door or $5 in advance purchase. Why Go: The Bay Village Early Childhood PTA will hold its Fall Children's Resale event from 8 a.m. to Noon on Saturday. To get a head start on the crowds, shoppers can pay $5 for a preview from 8 to 9 a.m., or come any time between 9 a.m. and noon to pay just $1 admission. There will be all kinds of used baby items, children's clothing, toys, games, books, strollers, cribs and more!

Where/When: , 2009 Baseball Blvd. in Avon / 11 a.m. Saturday

Why Go: It's not quite October, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy all of the great tastes of Oktoberfest yet! The are hosting their own fall festival featuring weinerschnitzel, pierogies, spaetzle, sausages, beer, music and entertainment. It's a great way to kick off the fall season.

Where/When: / 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Sept. 30

Why Go: Students from Westlake's public and private schools are showcasing their talents alongside students from Westlake's sister city of Tralee, Ireland. Come down and see what kids in Westlake and Tralee have in common, take in some international culture and learn a little more about Westlake's sister city.
