Motorcycle Ride For Toys Will Close Center Ridge Road Sunday

The 16th annual Fairview Hospital Toy Run will come through the city on Sunday afternoon.

The 16th annual Fairview Hospital Toy Run will come riding down Center Ridge Road at about 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The annual motorcycle ride held by the hospital and is collecting books, games, toys and sports equipment for young patients, and for Fairview Hospital’s new children’s library.

All major intersections on Center Ridge Road in the city will have officers on the road to stop traffic during the ride, said Westlake Cpt. Guy Turner.

If you’ve got a bike of any make or model, you can still get in on the run. Registration runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday morning at Lake Erie Harley Davidson, 38401 Chester Rd. in Avon, or you can register in-store before then.

The route for the Toy Run ride starts at Lake Erie Harley Davidson, goes west out of dealership to Route 611, turns south to Center Ridge Road, left on Center Ridge Road, goes through North Ridgeville, Westlake and Rocky River, turns right onto West 210 Street, turns left onto Lorain Road and finishes at Fairview Hospital.

Individual riders can donate one new toy or $20, and couples can donate two new toys or $35 to register. Suggested donations include bedside crafts, board games, handheld video games, books, DVDs and Playdoh. New toys only will be accepted.

The ride will go ahead rain or shine.
