Lee Burneson Students Donate 1,500 Canned Goods To Westlake Assistance Program

The White Team service committee collected cans for a week before loading them up for delivery Monday afternoon.

Students at were doing some heavy lifting Monday afternoon, loading about 1,500 canned goods for delivery.

"We've been doing this all week, but service committee is all the time," said Sam Vecchio.

The White Team Service Committee, which works all school year on projects to help the less fortunate, took them to the Westlake Assistance Program for distribution.

"At Burneson, we want to set an example for our kids to give back to the community, so when we do a fundraiser, we give a portion of the proceeds to Westlake Assistance," said Principal Paul Wilson.
