Clague House Museum Filling Up with Donations for Yard Sale

The Westlake Historical Society will hold the fundraiser sale May 14, with a rain date of May 28.

is full to the brim with all kinds of donations for the . Now, the Westlake Historical Society is just hoping for clear skies.

“We’re going to make our decision Friday morning because the news keeps saying it’s going to rain all day Saturday and we can’t have a sale outside if that’s true,” said Lysa Layne Stanton with the society. “The only problem is that in Cleveland at 6 a.m. it could be pouring rain and then at 9:30 it’s beautiful and it’s raining again at 4.”

For now, the sale is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 14. The rain date is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 28.

“Three rooms of the museum are packed to the gills with things,” Stanton said. “We’ve priced everything; we’re ready. We’re just waiting on the weather.”

Volunteers have been working for days to sort and price donations, which are still coming in today.

“We have some very nice vintage items that people have donated,” Stanton said. “It will be a special sale, and things are priced to sell.”

The Westlake Historical Society will use all proceeds from the sale for preservation efforts.
