Program has some money to spend after beating Bay last week

The football program won $4,000 Friday after the Demons , selected by .

Westlake High has not received the check, but Cipollone said that it should probably be in hand within a week.

"We're still talking about (how we're going to spend the money)," Cipollone said.

Nothing has been decided yet, but the strongest possibility right now is giving the money to the Westlake Athletic Development Foundation towards its goal of installing an artificial turf field at the high school's stadium and other improvements such as updating stadium entries, upgrading the scoreboard and improving the press box.

Rather than going the typical Westlake route of building something that's way over the top, I'd rather see it donated to a football program that really needs it.

The team won that money fair and square! They were voted on and they fought hard. Yes we want turf! We deserve it. These boys play hard and they should be recognized no matter what district they attend!
