Westlake wins regional title with comeback win over Ashland

The amazing season of baseball team goes on, and the Demons are going to State's!

Westlake came back from a 6-0 deficit on Friday to defeat Ashland, 10-7, for the Division I Cleveland regional title and a berth in the state championships.

This is the first time in his 23-year career that Westlake coach Jeff Short, who is , is going to the state championships.

The OHSAA Baseball Championships are May 31 through June 2 at Huntington Park in Columbus.

Westlake (21-6) plays in the 4 p.m. semifinal on May 31 against Massillon-Perry (19-10), which defeated Chardon, 5-2, in the Canton regional final on Friday.

Tickets for the state semifinals and finals are $8.
