Dean's Greenhouse Softball Team Takes Second Place

These girls have a variety of interests, but they're all on the same team.

The softball team finished second in the Westlake Girls Softball Association minor league with a record of 8-3.

Head Coach Patrick Epsie said his favorite part of coaching is "seeing the girls learning, improving, and enjoying the game."

But Epsie isn't only a coach, he's also a former player. Baseball was the only other sport Epsie was allowed to play besides to hockey because his coach felt he had the least chance of getting hurt on a baseball field.

Nonetheless, Epsie said, "Baseball was always an important part of summer." He played baseball on his high school team in Vancouver and also coaches another baseball team.
