1 in 30,000: Lake Erie Monsters Head Coach David Quinn
Our new feature takes one of Westlake's more than 30,000 residents and tells their story. Watch the video below to learn about Quinn and his heavy-hitting American Hockey League team.
Head coach David Quinn, who helped lead the Boston University Terriers to an NCAA championship in 2009, had only a few weeks to celebrate before he was called up to the AHL to lead the Lake Erie Monsters.
After just two seasons with the team, Quinn led the Monsters to the first round of the American Hockey League playoffs last April where they faced off against the Manitoba Moose. They fell in game seven, 4-3, and Quinn has been eager to get his team back on the ice to ever since to even the score.
We caught up with Quinn at Hoover Arena, the Monsters' practice facility, to talk about the sport, his up-and-coming players and what his expectations are for this season.
