won Parkside Intermediate School's geography bee in January and is headed to the state competition later this year, and he was also recognized at a state level for his self-composed musical pieces for his school's "Reflections" program. In addition, Ben's Lego Olympiad team won the Solution Award for the project they'd entered in to the competition while he took home the People's Choice award.

"In the Science Olympiad, I won first in science trivia and second in aerodynamics," he added.

In addition to all of this, Ben is also highly-involved with extraccuricular activities at his school such as Career Day, chess club, international club, walking club, math club and book club.

"My favorite subject is science," said Ben. "I enjoy learning how things work--not mechanically, but molecularly."

Ben said that when he grows up, he plans to become a chemist.

"Because of my interest in nuclear physics, I have been driven to achieve this goal," he said.

Keys to Awesomeness:

In addition to exceling in his academics, Ben is an all around good person and he loves to help others.

"I try my best to include people who aren't included," he said. "I also enjoy participating in fundraisers to help raise money for the schools."

Ben said his favorite music is of Russian and Scandanavian background.

"I like these because of my strong Russian heritage and because of how catchy they are," he said. "My favorite band is "Blestyaschie" and my favorite singer is Arash."

Ben's unquenchable thirst for knowledge is almost as unsatiable as his thirst for his favorite beverage, which is ginger ale.

"I'd die in a day if I didn't have it," he said.

He also enjoys sushi and eating juicy burgers at his favorite restaurant: Brown Bag Burgers in North Olmsted.

Ben had some advice for those struggling in school:

"Read more," he said. "Reading can multiply your knowledge."

The Million Dollar Question:

If Ben won a million dollars to give away to a charity or cause of his choice, he said he'd start a facility for improving the present technology for improving medicinal research for allergies.

"I have really bad allergies," he said.
