Westlake Students Earn AP Scholar Awards
Sixty six college-bound students recognized; two qualify for National AP Scholar Award.
Two recent graduates have qualified for the National AP Scholar Award. Abhi Ramachandran and Arit Umana each earned an average score of 4 or higher on the 5-point AP exam scale. Qualifiers each took eight or more AP tests.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement program offers students college-level courses while still in high school, and the ability to earn college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams.
Ramachandran and Umana also qualified for a State AP Scholar Award too. That award is given to a boy and girl from each state with the highest average score on all AP tests.
