Westlake’s 28th Annual Green & White Revue set for April 12, 13

Annual show features students from K through high school.

One of the Westlake's most enduring traditions, the 28th Annual Green & White Revue, presented by The Westlake High School PTSA, is set for April 12 and 13.

The 7 p.m. shows will be held at the Westlake High School Performing Arts Center.

This year’s emcees are Izabela Jamsek, Katie Jerome and Scott Pyle.

The talent and variety show will feature talents of all kinds from Westlake schools students ranging in age from kindergarten through high school. Some of this year’s acts include vocal, dance, folk and rock bands, comedy and a baton twirler.  (Featured are photos from the 2012 Revue.)

The event is co-chaired by Cris Kennedy and Colleen Kane.

“This is the main fundraiser for the high school PTSA,” Kennedy said. Kennedy said funds are  used for events, grants, etc. “They do all kinds of things with it.”

Kennedy said attendees can expect to see about 30 acts, including a group 25 high school boys and girls dancing to a Beyonce song.

“They have coordinating outfits and came well prepared,” Kennedy said. “We also have a kindergartner baton twirler who is just darling.”

Kennedy said the annual event is looked forward to by kids and adults.

“We had kids coming in for applications (to participate) before they were ready,” Kennedy said. “The kids really look forward to it.”

So do the show’s visitors. Last year the event sold out on Friday evening and came close on Saturday. The show proves to be a total Westlake effort, right down to the logo, designed by Ohio University graphics major and 2012 WHS graduate Conor Emser.

The high school is located at 27830 Hilliard Blvd in Westlake.

Admission for the show is $5 at the door with children six and under admitted for free.  All proceeds to benefit the Westlake High School PTSA. Visit here for additional information.

Tickets for the show can be purchased at the door the night of the show. All students 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
