Two Local Students Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidates

Two Westlake High School students were named U.S. Presidential Scholar candidates.

Two Westlake High School students were named as 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholar candidates, one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors.

The Westlake High School candidates are Ishaan Bakhle and Aakash R. Shah, according to a list of candidates posted on the U.S. Presidential Scholars website.

The two students were picked from a pool of thousands of students across the U.S. named as candidates in the annual Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors. Application to the program is by invite only, and based on ACT and SAT scores.

In the end, no more than 141 will be selected as scholars by a commission appointed by President Barack Obama. The students should learn if they are chosen in May.

I think Enterprise was going to move there, since BMW is moving to where Enterprise is.
