High School Construction On Schedule

Hot, dry spring and summer create a lot of dust, but the work goes on.

Construction of the new is on schedule thanks to more cooperative weather this year. The wet spring of 2011 set construction back a bit, but has not been an issue this year

David Puffer, director of construction projects for Westlake City Schools, said the new middle school and high school are both still on schedule.

With school in session, the builders have made some accommodations to avoid disrupting the school environment, Puffer said.

"I’ve heard no complaints from either Westlake High School and ," Puffer said in an email. "Delivery trucks & large equipment are prohibited from entering or exiting both sites during a.m. drop off and p.m. pickup times."

He said the district and Turner Construction monitor the contractor's progress against the schedule.
