Groundbreaking Set at Westlake High School
On Monday, the community is invited to Westlake High School for the Master Facilities Plan groundbreaking.
It’s time.
After years of planning, the first phase of the will break ground on Monday, Aug. 29 at , and several folks from the district and community are expected to attend.
During Phase I, workers will construct a new high school, transform into an intermediate school for grades 5-6 and build a new middle school for grades 7-8. The buildings should be open by 2014, Westlake City Schools treasurer Mark Pepera said.

The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. outside the Westlake High School media center on the grass between the building and bus loop, Westlake schools media specialist Kim Bonvissuto said.
If weather permits, attendees will be able to tour the high school site following the groundbreaking.
