Last Chance to See "Wizard of Oz" at Performing Arts Center

Play is one of many things to do around town this weekend

  1. This weekend is your last chance to catch Westlake High School's Center State Players in The Wizard of Oz at the Performing Arts Center. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, with a Sunday matinee.
  2. Enjoy a family-friendly afternoon with the kids at a benefit for the Isaiah Project at Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve at 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be entertainment, an art show, raffles, crafts, caricature drawing, a pizza sale and a bake sale.
  3. Help an area family help other parents who have lost a child at Saturday's Abbey Rose Foundation benefit at Westlake Christian Church. There will be live music and entertainment, raffles, a silent auction and more.
  4. Get an early does of the Christmas spirit at the Crocker Park Holiday Tree Lighting Extravaganza on Saturday. There will be entertainment, a visit from Santa Claus who will light the Christmas tree, fireworks and the granting of a wish from Make-A-Wish for an area youth.
  5. If baking is just not your thing, you can still have tasty treats for Thanksgiving. Get pies, cakes, cookies, breads and more at the Thanksgiving Bake Sale on Sunday at Dover Congregational United Church of Christ.
