Vocalists performed March 2 at Lorain County Community College.

Bassett Elementary School’s Honor Choir performed at the Oberlin Choristers
Children’s Honor Choir on March 2 at The Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County
Community College.

The Honor Choir consisted of more than 200 voices from 16 different schools in
Lorain, Cuyahoga and Huron counties. Each year area music teachers in grades
fourth through sixth are invited to train a select group of students to participate in the program. The goal is to challenge young students to expand their musical
skills.

Bassett fourth-grader Marissa Wise was chosen as a soloist for the opening song
by guest conductor Dr. Sandra Mathias, professor emerita of Music at Capital
University and Director of the Columbus Children’s Choir.

Bassett choir members are Hannah Powers, Gigi Redinger, Marissa Wise, Jane
Jolliffe, Emma Sovacool, Grace Evans, Luca Giaco, Marcella Napoli, Hannah
Friedrich, Gabby Backus and alternates Isabella Angala, Kalysta Crawford and
Isaac Neubeck. Bassett’s Honor Choir is led by Amy Schillinger.
