This year's Homecoming will be a special one, with alumni of all ages and graduating classes coming back to their old stomping grounds.
The Westlake All Class Reunion organizing committee is already hard at work planning a weekend of fun events, including a big party at , tours of the high school and much more.
"We're so excited," said organizer Cathy Axcell. "We have a great group of people who have volunteered on so many school projects: teachers, parents, supporters, alumni... we're really excited to kick this off!"
Postcards are going out to all alumni, and there is even a website and a hotline for anyone who wants to get involved.
"I can't say enough about Mary Beth Schneidler [alumna and former teacher] and her efforts to maintain a database," Axcell said. "That has really enabled us to reach a lot of people."
But you don't have to be a WHS graduate to get in on the fun. On Friday, there will be a party during and after the Homecoming game for all Westlake schools alumni and supporters at La Centre.
"We want to make sure that we can offer [this event] to parents of Westlake students too," Axcell said. "Many of us parents have been so involved and volunteered for so many years as our kids make their way through Westlake schools."
The event will include tailgate food, a cash bar, live bands and dancing in the main ballroom. Banners with each decade will be set up so that classmates can find each other easily. Axcell said there will also be a quieter lounge area for friends to catch up and even a photo booth.
