Who Got Westlake's Votes on Super Tuesday?

Westlake's Republicans voted strongly for Mitt Romney.

Statewide, less than one percent separated Mitt Romney, who won about 38 percent, and Rick Santorum, who earned about 37 percent, according to unofficial numbers from the Secretary of State

Westlake voters turned out in support of Romney, according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Out of 7,447 votes cast in Westlake on Tuesday, 4,425 were Republican, and 2,745 were Democrat.

In Westlake, residents gave Romney 2,482, or 56 percent, while Santorum won only 23 percent. Gingrich came in with 12 percent.

Westlake's population sits at about 33,000, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau data23,176 are registered to vote, but only 32 percent of registered voters turned out on Super Tuesday.

"Turnout is the lowest I've seen in a while," said a poll worker at on Tuesday night. "There's not much on the ballot to bring people out."

But that might not be the case in November.

"The turnout has been steady, but slow," said Ann Campbell, who was campaigning for the Democratic judge candidates outside of . "But this isn't for the presidency. In November, it will be a different story."
