Westlake Election Guide

Voters will be facing choices on all levels this year

As we look ahead to November’s elections, Westlake Patch is devoted to bring you the information you need about every race in town.

Here's our start on the candidates and issues we'll be covering as November draws near. Bookmark this page for updates.

President

As Ohio goes, so goes the nation, which means we'll likely seeing a lot of President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney between now and November.

United States Senate

We'll also be keeping an eye on the hotly contested Senate race between incumbent Sherrod Brown and Republican challenger Josh Mandel.

United States Congress

With longtime Congressman Dennis Kucinich ousted in the Democratic primary, we're about to get a new representative in Washington. Will it be Marcy Kaptur or Samuel Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber?"

State House of Representatives, 16th District

Two-term representative Nan Baker is being challenged by Democrat Andrew Meyer.

State Senate, 24th Disrict

Incumbent Tom Patton is seeking his second term. Democrat Jennifer Brady is his challenger.

Make a special note to remember to watch the Free and Equal Election Debate between third party candidates, Gov. Gary Johnson and Dr. Jill Stein to be aired tonight on Monday evening, Nov. 5th from 9:00 - 10:30 pm Eastern Time. Perform a worthwhile civic duty, and be certain to listen in on this historic debate so that you can make an informed decision on voting day. Third party candidates who will be on the ballot in most states deserve to be heard. http://freeandequal.org/?v=1

An informed decision would not include voting for an unelectable third party candidate.
