Veterans Honored At The Gardens At Westlake

Twenty four veterans were honored by name with a proclamation from Mayor Dennis Clough.

The men and women who have served in the Air Force, Navy, Marines, Army, Coast Guard and more were honored at a ceremony at on Veterans Day. The entire building took a few moments to reflect on the sacrifices of those who serve in the armed forces.

The James Ford Rhodes High School Navy Junior ROTC presented the colors before the choir performed a few songs. Mayor Dennis Clough ended the ceremony by presenting a proclamation in honor of the veterans.

"We gratefully acknowledge that we live in freedom today because of the many sacrifices that have been made and are being made today by the valiant service men and women of our armed forced," he read. "Our country is forever indebted to the members of the armed forces for their courage and exemplary service. These brave men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice for our benefit."
