School Board Member to Join County Administration

Andrea Rocco will act as special counsel to County Executive Ed FitzGerald.

Westlake school board member Andrea Rocco is joining the Cuyahoga County administration as special counsel to County Executive Ed FitzGerald.

“I am excited to work with Ed FitzGerald and to contribute the success he’s had so far,” Rocco said. “I am looking forward to working with the county." 

Rocco will keep her position as a municipal prosecutor in the law department, but will be leaving her post as assistant to the mayor in Lakewood.

FitzGerald said he knew Rocco’s skills well— he hired  the guy who hired her in 2008.

“It’s her work ethic and determination— these are the qualities that a government needs," FitzGerald said. "We’re trying to bring that to Cuyahoga County government.”

Rocco will earn approximately $48,000 in her new part-time post at the county.
