School Board Forum, Cutest Pet Contest and More Today

1) West Life is hosting a moderated forum for all seven Westlake school board candidates from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Performing Arts Center. Head down to see where the candidates stand before heading to the polls Nov. 8.

2) Join Miss Beth and her friend Poe at 10:15 a.m. this morning for stories, rhymes and songs at at . This program is for kids ages 2 to 3 and half years old with a caregiver.

4) There are only a few days left to enter the ! The Westlake Historical Society is only accepting submissions through Saturday, so send a photo of your pet and a $3 donation to Cutest Pet Contest c/o Westlake Historical Society P.O. Box 45064 Westlake, OH 44145. Each participant will get a certificate and the winning pet will bring home a cash prize along with the honor of serving as historical society mascot for the year. 5) Today is VFW Day, which according to VFW.org is "a day devoted to the organization and its dedicated members who are so deeply committed to serving those who bravely serve this nation." This year is the 111th birthday of the organization.
