How to Vote By Mail, Vote Early or Find A Polling Place

Here are the important deadlines for voters leading up to the Nov. 8 election.

Do you know how you’re going to vote? Voters not only have to choose soon which boxes to check, but also where and when to cast their ballots. 

Vote By Mail

To vote by mail, you must send in a ballot application to the Cuyahoga County Board of Education, 2925 Euclid Ave. Applications are available at the board of elections website, , or by calling 216-443-3298. However, if you’re planning to mail an application, do it soon because it must be received by Nov. 5.

Vote by mail ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 7 and make sure to include a 64-cent stamp. Postage for ballots is no longer provided. If you prefer to turn it in by hand, you must drop it off at the board of elections office by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8.

To vote in person before Nov. 8, visit the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will have extended hours for voting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Early voting closes at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

Vote at the Polls

Local polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. To check your polling place, visit the board of elections website, and be sure to bring a photo ID.
