Columbia Interchange Project on Council Agenda

City hopes to fix problems at interchange, Columbia and Detroit

A step towards a revamped Columbia Road interchange at Interstate 90 is on the agenda for Thursday's city council meeting at 8 p.m. at .

There will be a second reading of an ordinance authorizing Mayor Dennis Clough to enter an agreement with Hatch Mott MacDonald LLC for designing the plans for the interchange. Either the ordinance passes on declaring an emergency, or there is a third reading at the June 21 council meeting

City engineer Bob Kelly detailed changes the city hoped to make to the interchange . Moving the eastbound ramps a little to the north and changing the westbound off-ramps are designed to streamline traffic on Columbia and help keep traffic from impacting Detroit Road.
