Bicentennial Clock Dedication Set for Nov. 19

The commemorative clock will be installed in front of City Hall in honor of Westlake's 200th birthday.

The city of Westlake is holding a dedication ceremony for a on Nov. 19 at .

"There was an initiative to do a piece of art, but that never got together," said Mayor Dennis Clough. "This is a great alternative."

And this clock really will belong to the community. The $45,000 bill is being footed by donations from residents, the Westlake Historical Society, the Lakewood Elks Club, the Westlake Lions Club and the city's bicentennial fund. One generous donor whose name has not yet been released gave $10,000.

The city is still looking for a few more donors, Clough said. To make a donation, contact the Mayor's Office at 440-871-3300.
