Discount tickets to Cedar Point, National Adopt A Cat Month and more!

1) Did you know that you can get discounted tickets to Cedar Point, Soak City and Geauga Lake if you're a member of the ? A regular ticket (good for any day) is $37 for those 48 inches or taller, and Soak City tickets are only $24.99. Tickets for those 62 years or older or kids under 48 inches are $18. Tickets are limited. To buy yours, visit the Rec Center front desk. Geauga Lake Wildwater Kingdom tickets are $21.99 for those 48 inches or taller.

2) is getting local strawberries in on Saturday at 10 a.m., but they're not likely to last long. Plan on stopping by soon if you want some!

3) Today is the first day of National Adopt a Cat Month, according to the American Humane Association. To see local cats and kittens up for adoption in the area, visit the Love-A-Stray website. Yesterday, - a playful kitty whose owner had to give her up due to an illness.

4) There's still time to sign up for Race for the Place, the run to benefit The Gathering Place. Race day registration starts at 7:30 a.m. followed by a Survivor Ceremony at 8:45 and both races starting at 9 a.m. Registration for the 5K race is $30 for adults, $20 for teens ages 13-1 and $15 for kids 6-12 years old. The 1 Mile is $25 for adults, $15 for teens and $10 for kids. To sign up in advance, visit the Race for the Place website.

5) The National Weather Service is predicting another sunny day with a high near 75 degrees, so get outside while it's nice! Experts are saying it will cool off tonight with a low of 59.
