10 Acres off Bassett Road Eyed for New Subdivision

Planning commission will review plans this week.

Plans have been submitted to the Westlake Planning Commission to develop 10 acres of property off of Bassett Road.

The project, named Stone Creek Village Subdivision, will be a 16-lot subdivision sandwiched between Bassett Road homes, Crocker Road office towers and a nursing home.

The subdivision is being built by Edward P. Pavicic, Edwards Financial Group of Fairview Park.

The subdivision will include one primary cul-de-sac (Graystone Drive) off Bassett Road and a secondary non-connecting cul-de-sac, Granite Court that as proposed, dead ends.

Planning commission will review preliminary plans at the Aug. 26 Planning Commission meeting.

The only pre-meeting concern expressed by the city was whether the Granit Court turnaround will ever be replaced by a permanent cul-de-sac.

“The Planning Commission may consider placing a time limit on the temporary turn around, as a permanent one in that location would render lot 12 to less than the required 20,000 sq.-ft.,” a memo stated.

The new subdivision would mean residents on Sunset Drive would now have neighbors to their north.
