Westlake Police Blotter: Woman Groped in Convenience Store

Mom and daughter argue over who broke the daughter's nose. City Prosecutor to decide.

Sexual Imposition At Detroit Convenient Food Mart

A 31-year-old Westlake woman reported that she was groped by Dixit Kumar Patel, an employee of the Detroit Road on May 16 at 6 p.m. Patel, 52, of Westlake, followed her to the rear of the store where the offense took place. After hugging and fondling her, the victim alerted the police and Patel was arrested for sexual imposition. He was released on bond and faces trial on Wednesday May 25.

The City Prosecutor will decide if any charges will be filed related to a domestic violence incident between a 41-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter. Police were called to their Dover Center Road home on May 16 at 8:40 p.m. The child claimed that her mother punched her in the nose after an argument, but the mother reported that the pair struggled and she did not know how the nose injury occurred. The Westlake Fire Department transported the child to St. John Medical Center for treatment of a broken nose. Her father took custody of her there.

Illegal Debit Card Transaction Reported

A Westford Circle woman reported misuse of her debit card in Canada on May 16 at 7:16 p.m. Her bank notified her that there had been an $80 transaction and a subsequent $257 attempted purchase earlier that day. The woman had her card in her possession the entire time. The account has been closed.

Woman’s Debit Card Number Stolen

A Sleepy Hollow Drive resident found that three charges totaling $221 had been made on May 20 against her Visa debit card. The victim had her card in her possession at the time of the transactions. The bank required her to report the thefts before it would reverse the charges. No suspects have been reported.
